A few practical details about links, devices and file availability that help every download go smoothly.

Which Instagram links work

FromInsta.net accepts links to public posts, Reels, carousels and older IGTV videos from instagram.com. It does not matter whether you copy the link in the Instagram app or in a browser: extra parts such as ?igsh= or ?img_index= are removed automatically, and links that include the author’s username before the post code work too.

Stories, Highlights, profile pictures and Direct messages are not supported. A link copied from a chat works only when it leads to a public post or Reel.

Saving files on iPhone and Android

On iPhone and iPad, Safari asks whether you want to download the file and then saves it to the Downloads folder in the Files app. To move a video or photo into the Photos app, open it in Files, tap Share and choose Save Video or Save Image.

On Android, Chrome and most other browsers save files to the Download folder, and new videos and photos usually appear in Google Photos or the gallery app within a few seconds. On a computer, the browser uses its regular download location.

Why a download sometimes fails

The most common reason is access: the post belongs to a private account, has been deleted or archived, or Instagram shows it only to signed-in users. Instagram can also respond slowly for a while, so trying again a minute later often helps.

Download buttons are temporary. If you return to an old result and a button no longer works, paste the Instagram link again to get fresh files. Occasionally a short automatic security check appears first; the download continues on its own once it is complete.

Using downloaded content responsibly

Photos, videos and music on Instagram belong to their creators. A public link makes a post viewable, but it does not give you the right to republish it. Saving your own posts, keeping a copy for personal viewing and asking the author for permission before reposting are safe ways to use the service.
